Attention Angel Investors

If you are interested in becoming a business partner with Emporium Software...

Hi,

My name is Mark Martin (not related to the NASCAR driver).  I started creating Pikker in June, 2001.  None of the trading software that was available would do the type of analysis that I wanted:  backtesting a system that trades a portfolio of securities.  So I decided to write my own software.  Thus was born the idea for Pikker.  A year later, I began selling the software with a shareware distribution model under the name "Emporium Software."

After nearly two years of work, the product has seen tremendous growth in development.  Some of the users that I've talked with are very excited about the possibilities that this software presents.  Yet, I am now finding myself "up to my ass in alligators," so to speak.  There's still a lot of work to be done, both in terms of further development and marketing of the product.  I'm only one person, and I have enough work for at least three people.  My resources for continuing this project are running low.  I am looking for Angel Investors, who would be willing to put forward some capital to help build this business into a profitable operation.  I would also be interested in taking on a business partner who would take over much of the internet marketing aspect of this business.  Compensation would be in the form of a proportionate private ownership of the business and profits received.  If you would like to support the development of this business in either a financial aspect, or as a business partner, please contact me by email at , and let's discuss some of the details.

For a current list of planned development initiatives, please see the list of feature requests and bugs on the Support page.

Business development and marketing possibilities exist in the following areas:

  • Writing and publishing of a series of technical "how-to" articles on trading, system creation, and system testing
  • Creation of an opt-in newsletter with daily trade recommendations
  • Participation in, and/or creation of e-zines targeted to traders
  • Online forum development and administration
  • Website development and maintenance
  • Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
  • Doorway pages
  • Link exchange and other traffic generation systems
  • Setting up ad tracking systems
  • Pay-Per-Click (PPC) search engine advertising
  • Download site submissions
  • Premium listings on download sites
  • Formalization of a business model and business plan that I have started
  • Affiliate sales programs
  • Anything else that you can come up with, let's discuss the possibilities.

Thank you for your consideration,
Mark Martin
